A: Shackcom door stopers are solid rubber stoppers. They are firm but not hard, and they work well on both tile and hardwood. You do have to pre-load them a bit on some surfaces, which means just holding the stop and gently pulling the door up on it a little to develop some pressure between the door and the floor. If you do that, they appear to work on any surface. Q(2): Can you stack these for doors that are 2" above the floor? A: My doors are 2 inches above the floor and these doorstops works fine. A: I have several of these and am using them on three different types of tile (more textured and less textured) as well as hardwood. When setting them, just place your foot in front of it and pull the door gently toward you to compress the rubber a bit (pre-load it) and it holds great. Q(6): What Is It Made Of?
